Raw honey contains: Vitamin A, Beta-Carotene, All of the B-Complex Vitamins, Vitamins C, D, E and K Minerals, Magnesium, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Iron, Calcium, Chlorine, Potassium, Iodine, Sodium, Copper and Manganese. Canadian Heritage Organics Maple Syrup
Maple Syrup, compared to refined sugars, is the easiest for our metabolism to digest. The natural sugar that contains Maple Syrup is produced during the growing season by photosynthesis and stored as starch in the inner bark. With the spring thaw, enzymes change this starch into sugar which mixes with water absorbed through the roots, imparting a slightly sweet taste. Maple Syrup has 50 calories per tablespoon, while fructose has 46, corn syrup has 60 and honey has 64 calories per tablespoon. Use Maple Syrup to flavour milk, eggnog & shakes, hot & cold cereals, plain yogurt, on pancakes, crepes, waffles, baked beans and bacon.
Artisana Raw Almond Butter
Experience the delightful texture and clean aroma of our raw, uniquely energizing almond purée. A great way to add protein, essential vitamins and minerals to your diet. Add to fruit, shakes, cereal, sandwiches, confections or eat right out of the jar. Notably absent? DUTCHMAN’S GOLD IS PROUDLY CANADIAN! Dutchman’s Gold started from natural hive that the Van Alten family found back in 1981. We are a small family business, open year-round, employing 13 hardworking individuals to help with beekeeping, extracting, honey packing, making beeswax candles, customer service in our honey shop, and delivering honey and maple products to retail stores in the surrounding area.
BAMBU: Why complicate a material that is both functional and beautiful? At the heart of our design process is an underlying philosophy to preserve the simplicity of a raw material while shaping it in a way that makes it classically modern. For us, sustainability goes well beyond the balance between what we take from the earth and what we return to it. It’s a philosophy that applies to how we conduct ourselves as a business. We make strides to further our commitment to 3rd-party certification and testing, promote fair labor practices and safe working conditions, and green our supply chain. These efforts have been recognized by leading associations and trade groups.

CANADIAN HERITAGE ORGANICS IS PROUDLY CANADIAN! Canadian Heritage Organics Maple Products respect the organic farming processes: manufactured naturally with absolutely no artificial additives, coloring, preservatives or chemicals added during any part of the processing.
Canadian Heritage Organics products have three generations of Quebec organic farming craftsmanship in the Appalaches region where the mineral content of the soil is of the richest available in nature, guaranteeing the highest quality Organic Maple Syrup possible. Our sap is collected from the Maple Sugar tree (acer saccharum) using the traditional farming method, as well as the pipeline method.
ARTISANA: Raw and organic food is just as natural as a flower growing in the grass. It is alive with all of nature’s enzymes, proteins, vitamins and minerals. Creating raw and organic food is an art. We source local nuts and seeds where available and we have a strict quality control program to insure the purity of our food from the farm to your table. Making our raw organic nut butters is not easy… and it is a process that we do not hurry along. It takes a considerable amount of energy and time to hand-make and keep all of Artisana Nut Butters pure and raw for you to enjoy… and we enjoy every moment of this process! Although we are a small organic food company, we are trying to make a big difference. Our goals and ideas are much bigger than just organic food. We are devoted to sustainable living and through our community we support the organic and living foods movement, the Earth and her forests. We try to buy our foods as close to the farmer as possible. In many cases we are able to buy straight from the organic farmers. It’s a choice. It’s how we operate. It is how we live our life.
WHY NOT ALL HONEY IS CREATED EQUAL: Many people believe that just because honey is “”natural”, any kind of honey is healthy. This is simply not true. Unfortunately, most of the honey eaten today has been heavily processed. Like most foods that have been chemically refined, many of the healthful benefits have been reduced or eliminated. Most commercial and off shore honey is treated with an excessive heating process that can destroy some of the critical natural enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. And many so called ‘local’ or ‘domestic’ honeys are in fact small amounts of domestic blended with Chinese or cheap off shore honey. Canadian labeling laws for example allow you to call it ‘Canadian’ as long as there is some Canadian honey in it. Processing of honey also filters out many vital phytonutrients found in raw honey. Raw honey has not been heated excessively through pasteurization. The only way to get that perfectly clear look of most commercial honeys is to heat it and then filter it excessively. The problem with heat is that many nutrients are very sensitive to it and die. You may get strange looks when you tell people your raw honey is ‘alive’, but you’re absolutely correct to a certain extent. It’s the beneficial enzymes found in raw honey that make it so digestible to humans. Raw honey is filtered, but very minimally and in a manor not to destroy the health promoting enzymes and other nutrients. You’ll also notice raw honey is solid at room temperature (like honey should be) and it also looks almost milky. It is not a golden and perfectly clear liquid. Let that be a sign to you – the mirky look to your honey is assurance that it still contains it bee pollen granules, bee propolis, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and whatever else raw honey contains that we haven’t figured out yet!
WHY BAMBOO? Bamboo is biodegradable and natures most sustainable resource. The bamboo industry provides a regular income to over two billion people in the world. Moreover, bamboo is considered by farmers to be a relatively easy plant to work with, since it requires virtually no maintenance and is harvested every two to six years. Bamboo is a top choice for the reforestation of depleted areas, because it has incredibly fast growth rate; it grows up to almost 50 inches in just one day and can reach its full height in around three months; indeed, an entire forest can be grown in three to five years! It may technically be a grass, but bamboo is as strong as steel! The World Bank recently pledged its support to a project in Ecuador called ‘Elevated Houses to Protect Communities in Flood Zones’; the idea is to use bamboo to provide flood-proof housing for economically challenged communities. If bamboo is strong enough to weather the toughest of storms, it is most definitely an ideal choice for everything from cutting boards to utensils, and even beautiful bowls for enjoying your favourite food.
WHY ORGANIC TEA? Tea farmers who choose to grow organically possess the knowledge that using chemical pesticides can be harmful to the human body. Tea is known for its healthful properties. Why harm it with damaging compounds that may cancel out the antioxidant and healing properties of the tea? My Organic Havynn teas are always certified organic, assuring you are sipping on quality ingredients.
WHY ORGANIC COFFEE? Health Canada states that 60 percent of Canadian adults take in caffeine through coffee. Most people are not aware that regular coffee consumption can be a significant source of pesticides. Conventional farmers apply up to 250 pounds of chemical fertilizers per acre! Pesticides contribute to a wide range of health problems, including prostate and other types of cancers, Parkinson’s disease, and miscarriages in pregnant women. So when you sip on your non-organic morning brew, you are also sipping on pesticide residues. Yet another reason to purchase organic!
WHY RAW & ORGANIC NUT BUTTERS? Raw, organic nut butters are loaded with protein, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Protein helps build muscle and keep the body in shape, while the right fatty acids work to decrease cholesterol and, as a result, reduce the risk of heart disease. Vitamins and minerals, such as riboflavin, thiamin, niacin, folic acid, and vitamin E, all work to keep the body’s systems running smoothly. The well rounded health benefits of raw, organic nut butters are important aspects of a successful raw food diet.
